Midget, Lear Jet, Pouty lip and Already 11 weeks old!!

Wow! Sorry my blog fans that its taken me so long to update...but with laundry and a house to take care of and a yard and a husband oh and wait, a new baby! its amazing how fast time just flys by. It seems like you barely get up and ready for the day and before you know it, its time to go to sleep again. It really is true that time just keeps speeding up, and I can't believe my handsome little baby is almost 3 months old!! AAAGGGHHHH its going WAY to fast! I'm trying to enjoy each little moment and not take any of it for granted.
So back to what we've been doing for the past three weeks. My aunt Laura and cousin Caroline came up from San Diego and visited. We had a great time and Austin really enjoyed them. Then my Aunt Tammy, Uncle Keith, Lindsay, and Casey all came down from Washington. We had a great visit with them and boy does Austin love his cousin Lindsay! It was really fun to show him off and pass him around to everyone. We spent lots and lots of time at my grandma's cooking and eating and cooking more and eating more and just being a family. It was a wonderful week with them and makes you realize that family really is the most important thing. Meanwhile Joey has been working on a midget for Austin. For those of you who are like me and are wondering what the heck a midget is, it is a 1950's minature go-kart. Joey's dad had started to fix it up for Joey when he was a baby but never finished it, so now Joey is going to fix it up for Austin. Its really fun to see him get so excited and work so hard on this project for Austin. He sure loves his little boy! And last but certainly not least Austin went on his first plane ride. Joey knows a wonderful pilot, named Roger who offered to fly us to Sacramento to visit Joey's mom Tammy. He also invited my grandpa to come get a ride in his lear jet and returned him back to Bishop when they were done. Austin did great on the plane ride. As soon as we were in the air he fell right to sleep and could have cared less that we were 12,000 feet up and going almost 600 mph!! Then to make it more fun Roger let my grandpa sit up front and help fly the plane with his other pilot Brit. It was a lot of fun for my grandpa who used to be a pilot but had certainly never flown anything with that many bells and whistles. Then to our suprise when we got to the airport Roger had a car waiting for us to use the whole time that we were in Sacramento. WOW! We felt so incredibly blessed. He is such a kind, generous man. When we landed back in Mammoth after 3 days in Sacramento, I told him that it was such a relief to only have a 30 minute plane ride versus a 5 hour car ride. God has certainly blessed us with some amazing people in our lives. Next we come to the pouty lip. Austin has been making this pouty lip for the past couple of weeks whenever he starts to cry but I can never get it on camera. Every time he does it we joke around because he really looks just like Joey, so we had a photo shoot last night and I finally got some pictures of it. Poor baby, he really looks pathetic when he does it!! He is getting so big though and I can't believe that he will be 3 months old on thursday. Oh and some other really big news of the week is that Mommy is going back to work. Yep, Wednesday is my first day back. I can't really complain though because I am only working two days a week. And it is actually going to be perfect because Joey is going to watch him on Wednesdays and my sister-in-law Sarah is going to watch him on Fridays. So he won't have to go to day care and won't have any strangers watching him. But still, I think I'm going to have a hard time with it. It will be sooooo nice to see my clients again but at the same time, leaving my little baby is going to be difficult. But at least it is only two days a week and I'm sure it will be good for the both of us. So I will try to write a little more often and wish me luck on my first day back to work!!
Look at those chubby cheeks with that little pout lip!

Poor little baby, he was getting mad at me

8 weeks old! and first shots...

So Austin is 8 weeks old and Joey and I had our 2nd anniversary today...Wow
time sure is flying!! Austin had to go get his first shots today, poor little baby.
He weighs 12 lbs 13 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. For his weight he is in the
75th percentile and length is the 25th percentile. So basically he is a short, fat
baby! He is just doing perfect though, and the doctor was very impressed with how
happy and mellow he was while she was examining him. He had to get his
shots, and with the first one he didn't even cry! But then shot number two and three
he screamed his little head off. Poor little guy! It was hard to see him cry but
Joey came with us for support and he did make both of us feel better. He is a
very involved dad and Austin loves him so much. Sometimes I feel like all I am
is the milk factory because as soon as he sees dad or hears his voice he is so excited
to see him and starts smiling and talking and I'm like hey there! I've been with
you all day and you don't get that excited to see me! Oh well, I know he loves
me too but dad is definitely the highlight of his day.
He really is starting to smile a lot which is so fun!! He
is a little person now!

He just started sucking his thumb and we aren't sure if we should let him or
try to stop him. So far he doesn't do it very often but we will see...

He loves to talk and smile at his little stuffed animals

Daddy giving Austin his first bottle...they were practicing to make sure
he will take the bottle from dad when I go back to work. And yes I'm
still breastfeeding I'm just going to pump at work and Joey can give him bottles.
It really is the healthiest thing for him and he does a really good job at it so I'm
going to try and do it for a year. 2 months down, 10 to go!

Austin is 7 weeks old already!! He is really starting to smile and I tried to get
some good pictures of him but he doesn't want to smile at me when I'm holding
this big camera in front of my face. Sorry its so washed out....we will work on getting
some better pics of him really smiling. Oh, and he has really discovered in the last
couple of days that he has his own voice. Tonight when we were eating dinner he
was in his bouncer having a very serious conversation with the little hanging
elephant in front of him. It was pretty funny, he was just talking away to that
elephant. And when Joey and I were talking later in the evening he was pitching
right in with his own little sounds and opinions. Silly little guy!!
He is becoming so much fun!!!

So here are some pictures of Austin sleeping in his crib. Normally at night
he sleeps in his pack'n'play in our bedroom and during the day I just let
him take a nap wherever I am at, usually in the living room on the couch,
but I figured he needs to start getting used to his crib in his room so I've
been putting him down for his naps in his crib. He looks so little in this big crib
but I know he is going to grow into it way to fast. It was a big step to leave my
little guy in his crib in his room all by himself! But he is doing really well
and doesn't seem to even notice that he is in a new place. So before too long
we are going to have to put him in there at night too, but for now he still sleeps
in mom and dad's room. I am still too attached to my little baby to have
him that far away from me all night long.
