7 months old...
Austin is 7 months old today! Wow!! Can you believe its been 7 months already?!! I can't! Why is it that your pregnant for 10 years, and then once you have your baby, you blink and they are already 7 months old. Austin is doing great! He is sitting perfect now. I can plop him anywhere, put some toys in front of him and he will sit there and play and play. Its really nice. He isn't getting as bored as he used too, and when he is done playing he just topples over onto his side and tummy and starts rolling across the room to whatever he wants to get to. That rolling has kept me quite busy because he rolls so fast now that as soon as I turn my head he is all the way across the room, getting into everything! He has been doing really good on eating "real" food. I try to feed him once a day at least, and this week I'm going to try to feed him twice a day. So far I've been making all of his baby food. It is really easy and fast and saves ALOT of money! Woohoo! He has had squash, carrots, greenbeans and sweet potatoes. Tomorrow I'm going to try some broccoli and maybe if I have time make him some peas. It works out great, I just steam whatever vegetable or fruit, then plop it in my food processor and add water until its a nice smooth consistency. Then I have these great "ice cube" trays that have lids and I fill them up and stick them in the freezer and when its time to eat, just pop out one or two little cubes and heat them back up. He LOVES vegetables and will eat and eat and eat them, but fruits on the other hand are an issue for him. At first every fruit I tried (peaches, pears, apples, bananna's)he hated and would gag until he threw it up. Now, I finally have him eating a little bit of bananna's and a little bit of apple, but it is mixed with lots of rice cereal to help him get it down. He is so dramatic! I wonder where he gets that from?!! Anyways, he is getting there and at least he does so well with the vegetables. And his sippy cup is still his favorite thing. Don't you dare try to give him a bottle, but give him a sippy cup and he'll be your best friend for life! We have to watch him because he will drink and drink and drink his water until he has drowned himself and is so stuffed with water that it makes him spit up. His latest big thing though, is his little personality. He is so funny. He'll smile and laugh and play with you, and then the next minute if you do something he doesn't like he growls at you and can give quite the evil eye. Its like he gets this attitude and you almost want to put him in time out or somthing until he is good again. I keep telling him to be nice to his momma!! Well, I'll stop my ramblings for now. Hope you enjoyed all the new pictures!!
